Contains: Purchase of 1 sq. mile (659.146 acres) of privately owned land at south end of park, owners vacated by Sept. 1. Horse trail built; Jan 1931 T.J. Allen Jr. transferred from Hawaii, E.T. Scoyen transferred to Glacier NP; Canyon road rebuilt; Cable Creek Bridge; 2-1500 sq. ft. of rock dikes or basket dams built; Angus Woodbury hired as 1st perm Park Naturalist. Thomas C. Parker, acting Assist Superintendent; Animal survey by Joseph Dixon and Ben Thomas NPS; Ronald C. Orcutt, Los Angeles, CA, died from fall from Cathedral Mountain. USGS mapping project completed; New Lawn at Zion Lodge and landscaping. Hon. Frank C. Murphy, Ohio, appropriation committee, visits.
