New temp Museum at HQ bldg. at Canyon Junction. 2-CCC camps disbanded and replaced by company 962 from New York. CCC Projects: Stream protection; channelization; crib dams; fine grading roads and cut slopes on park roads; East Rim Truck road continues; diversion dam used for irrigation of South campground; 2-3 room houses built; grotto campground museum re-modeled into Ranger quarters; ongoing insect control. 2-years since grazing was eliminated -- positive improvement. Bridge Mountain band of Mtn. Sheep so low as to become extinct. 2nd annual Easter Sunset Services (Pageant) Apr 12, 1936. National Geographic article written May 1935 issue included in report. Administrative Expenditures $39,000.000, revenue $31,000.00. Warmest June on record. Maintenance activities. Small sporadic beetle infestation in pine and fir. Cold running water installed at Zion Inn cabins. Law enforcement reports: speeding; parking violations; wild life violations; inscriptions on natural resources; loose pets; disorderly conduct; 9 - automobile accidents (none serious); 1 death from heart attack in tunnel; 1 death from stroke while riding on trail; 1 rattlesnake bite.
