Rock slide of November 23, 1947, utility yard (Oak Creek maintenance area) hole in shed from 40-ton rock. Pickup visible thru hole in roof ( pickup had only been driven 100 miles). Damaged low boy trailer and 880-ton rock landed on top of vehicle from Big Bend National Park. Large boulders also landed in Oak Creek, 1000 feet from the ledge.

Rock slide damages of November 23, 1947. Parking shed with new pickup truck in stall, truck had 100 miles on it when crushed by the 40-ton rock. A trailer and vehicle from Big Bend National Park were also damaged. Some boulders rolled over 1000 feet from the cliff and into Oak Creek.
