Nailed to side of wood platform. Side of corrugated tin siding in background.
Sign mounted at Gold Crater Well that reads: NOTICE This well and Ranch is owned by DEATH VALLEY SCOTTY and A. M. Johnson of Chicago, Illinois. No trespassing allowed. May 2, 1931. Sign on front of wood platform that holds pumping equipment. Inscription in black ink on obverse lower edge: Gold Crater Well 5-2-31. Black and white, vertical format. All the wells and springs in this series of photographs are near the Kawich Range in Nevada that Johnson purchased for horse range and water rights.
