Lorne Hotel, formerly a residence where John Muir was born in Dunbar, Scotland on April 21, 1838. This remained the Muir family home until 1849. Boyhood home - actually born in the building to the left.

This, now the Thomas Kearn's home, is the second home of the Muir family. It is about fifteen miles north of Portage, Wisconsin.
