He conducted many celebrities on High Sierra pack trips; was closely associated with Stephen T. Mather, and was later in charge of Yosemite Valley Campgrounds which he administered with the aid of his famous white horse "Shiek". Biographical reference: Albright and Taylor's Oh Ranger."
