Hunt Sir We have forwarded per Sloop Minerva as per bill annexed including six boxes glass from [A.] & W Underhill, for which they would make no deduction for cash; they were therefore placed to your acct by them – 8d cut nails were not be found in market with any of the dealers excepting [Rusco?] Brothers – and they only had 6 kegs – and as there price is over what you usually pay we have sent you but two kegs – Connecticut mess Shad were not to be had at any price – but it is promised that they will be in market soon. Since you were here we have received [ illegible ] 38 Hunts, & 44 Dr Lees brand flour – we have retailed 21 of Hunts at $5 balance $4 7/8 and the Lees $4 ¾ - Also on 29th 40 bbls Hunts brand [cents] 14 of which have been sold at 38 and the balance at 37/6 (one excellent [deal?] ) There arrived this morning 23 of Hunts & 75 of Lees brand. the former was sold at $4 5/8 and as the latter is the poorest you have sent us it is uncertain what it will bring – as the best brands ar offered at $4 3/8 -- As the weather is extremely hot and no prospect of our [illegible] improvement you may do better by keeping it back for the present— Respectfully Yours Edward G.
