Photograph possibly taken by Augusta H. Saint-Gaudens of the unveiling ceremony of the Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Regiment Memorial by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The ceremony took place on May 31, 1897 in Boston Massachusetts. The Shaw/54th Monument is located on the edge of the Boston Common on Beacon Street. The subject of this photograph was previously thought to be Bernard P. Saint-Gaudens, the father of Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
