"Adelaide" on Yellowstone Lake
Haynes Photo Shop

By the 1930s, the Yellowstone Park Boat Company acquired a speedboat, the "Adelaide," which could reach speeds over 50 miles per hour. The "Adelaide" was only in service until 1937, when the engine exploded and the boat was sunk in the lake as a result.
