Model 614 Tour Bus
White Motor Company
1931

In the 1930s, the National Park Service held a contest to find a vehicle to carry tourists through the western parks. Buses in the late 1930s used this "706" chassis.

Industrial designer Alexis de Sakhnoffsky designed the distinctive front end of the vehicle and partnered with Bender Body Company to design the curved rear doors. The canvas roof was designed to be rolled back to allow visitors to stand when bus was parked to get a panoramic view.
