Philadelphia 23April1794 My dear Daughter Lucia I hope you will not be interrupted in your school exercises by the shifting of the masters. If one is more agreable than the other I think it is but fair that they should be shifted, at certain times that every one may have an equal Chance. Your Mama will direct you what is proper to be done till I return & then we will consult together – perhaps you may still improve by going to Mr Hooper – if his exertions are less, yours should be the greater – I am in haste again – adieu my Dear & be very sure that this is from your affectionate Papa
