View of a pleasure boat belonging to the Yumeiro teahouse. Eight Japanese people are on board, all wearing kimono or traditional attire. The Sumida River is at low tide and houses on the far shore can be seen in the distance. | Inscription: "A 'Yanni buni [yane bune] ' (Pleasure boat) Yedo [Tokyo]" in ink in block letters by Charles Longfellow. | Notes: Poem in Japanese - "Night rain at Karasaki" - on reverse (1008.002/001.001-003 #28). 1872-73 is given in an inscription elsewhere in the album.
