Back of a stereograph mount. Front shows crest of falls in left of image. On the bank in the right foreground is a man in light-colored hat and dark coat who turns his back to viewer and looks downwards.
Inscription: Information indicating stereo is No. 1 "The Brink" in the "Minne-ha-ha" series of the "Gems of Minnesota Scenery" printed verso. Printed below is "J.E. Whitney, Photographer, Cor. Third & Cedar Streets, Saint Paul, Min." Excerpt from "Hiawatha" also.
Notes: C1860-C1870 because of format (slightly "warped" stereographs introduced C1879, "square" corners used until C1870).
