Rock Creek Crossing
Covered wagons are pulled by horses along a trail
There were no gayly colored banners to welcome the pioneers to the new country, so the artist chose to weave their depiction in an array of color. This painting has as its setting the Oregon Trail crossing the toll bridge at Rock Creek near Endicott, Nebraska. The time...one morning in early spring.
