Scenery: Closer view of the central portion of the Bumpas Hell area as seen from the trail into the region. Steam from the boiling ponds is distinctly noticeable. A system of trails is necessary to prevent incautious visitors from venturing out onto the treacherous crests which are formed over some of the boiling areas; wooden guard rails (the location of which are indicated by inked-in lines) however would mar the attractiveness of the natural scene irretrievably.
