a man with bow and arrows carrying a deer carcass, a woman holding a pottery drinking vessel or ladle and a baby on a backboard all shown wearing winter clothing of hides, warm footwear and feather-cloth robes; and a young man wearing summer clothing and holding a digging stick. All adornments are typical of ancestral Puebloans. A turkey is also depicted in the foreground of the illustration. The turkey was important to the Puebloan economy providing food, feathers used in weaving, and bones used for tools.
