This is an historic black and white photograph from the Scotty's Castle Historic Photograph Collection, Death Valley National Park of twenty-one young men and older men posing in front of a vehicle parked by a fence. Most are college-aged young men. Most have hats, heavy coats or sweaters, jeans, and solid footwear. Steep, barren hillside behind. Number in black ink in lower left corner.
Twenty-one men posed in front of truck somewhere in desert. Circa 1924. Probably Deep Springs College students. The college had an open invitation to visit Death Valley Ranch and often did visit. One 1925 visit, about the time of this photo, is discussed in the Historic Resource Study, 2009, p. 102, 134.
