Marks place held by 20 Indiana Infantry on right of Ward's Brigade on July 2, 1863, when attacked by Confederates from Rose Farm. Marks spot where Col. Wheeler fell while commanding regiment. 1 of 6 mns to Indiana. Located on Cross Ave near Sickles. || Smooth, double-layered base 4' square. Polished shaft 1'10", "shingled" apex top w/ polished sphere. All 9'high. Inscription of raised letters on N face of shaft.
