Kenso Seki's Home
A red building with white and blue windows and doors. A green lawn and trees surround the building.
Built in 1931, this building was the home to Kenso Seki, an infamous resident of Kalaupapa. Kenso Seki was a well-known patient, inventor, craftsman, and world traveler. He came to Kalaupapa at the age of 18 and spent 70 years of his life here. His house is typical of a 1930s residential cottage used by healthier adult patients. If you are Take note of Kenso’s car next to the garage. It was running up until the time of his death in 1998.
