This is an historic black and white photograph from the Scotty's Castle Historic Photograph Collection, Death Valley National Park of dirt road and excavated area foreground. Middle ground is mostly completed arched bridge with round platform over future pool area. Ladder stretches from bridge over trench to area between flying buttresses that will become steps. Spanish style elaborate structure on left and in the distance. Three tall palm trees and desert hillsides in background. Inscription in black ink along upper and lower border.
