Sunset over the Never Summer Mountain Range, Rocky Mountain National Park, 2015.
The wetter west side of the park receives more annual precipitation than the east side, making the Kawuneeche Valley a lush wetland full of a wide array of plants and animals. The streams and rivers that flow into the Colorado River also make this area ideal for fishing, as this ranger is doing on her time off.
