Channel Islands National Park and partners have been working to reestablish bald eagles to the islands since 2002.  In 2006, for the first time in over 50 years, a bald eagle chick hatched unaided on the Channel Islands.  The chick was hatched in this nest at Pelican Harbor on Santa Cruz Island.  This is the fifth year that this pair, K-10 and K-26, have laid eggs.  The chick hatched on April 3.
