A wide color painting of tall mountains in many colors. The colors are not true to life, but are cut out construction paper, forming a painting and collage combination. The mountains are cut from several colors, each different, including yellow, pink, purple, and red. They are large, pointy-topped peaks across the frame. The valley below in the foreground is a layer of green and a layer of sky blue underneath, very thin at the base of the work. The sky is a bright, sky blue above the mountains. All the mountains are given detail by other construction paper pieces places in random shapes, and pen marks create abstract shapes across the sky and some of the mountains.

The View From My Room in Great Basin National Park - 2023.jpg

A watercolor painting of looking up at the imposing Wheeler Peak and Doso Doyabi, with the rolling green hills before it. The viewer stands in a snowy meadow peering up at these mountains, with many green trees, some with long green canopies extending beyond the rest. Slightly beyond rises a green hill with streaks of white, and then the imposing, sharp, steep cliff faces of the cirque. Snow covers some parts of these faces, but far more browns stick through. A haze of clouds and blowing snow shroud the edges of the peaks, but a piercing blue sky, welcome in this winter scene, is visible above.

Wheeler from Meadow Views - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of rolling mountains, fairly plainly made with only small swatches of detail. A white sky with the tiniest streaks of blue hovers above the dominating edge of the Wheeler Peak Cirque, with the sharp stone face of Wheeler Peak visible above the two groups of smaller mountains covered in green before it. The viewer stands in a tan field with some distant green trees.

Wheeler from Black Horse Road - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of a winter scene, looking across a snow-covered meadow to snowy trees and tall, cloud obscured mountains in the distance. The cloudy sky with only small hints of blue has a dim yellow sun peaking in at the top of the image. A tall but not harsh-sided mountaintop appears through cloudy mist which shrouds its beginning. Obscured slopes of spotted green hills roll their way into the clouds, and a handful of clearly distinguishable trees stand on the far side of the snowy meadow.

Weather clearing at Meadow Views - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of a rusted tin can and three pinecones sitting on a featureless white background. The can sits further back from the cones, it has a slightly crushed profile, the top creased and cracked. We can see the side and top from a diagonal on view, and its inside seems fairly grey and featureless. It leaves a small shadow behind. The three cones are relatively large, about half the size of the can, and cast their own multidirectional shadows on the white. They are short and stubby, but wide and open.

Nevada Still Life - Tin and Pinyon Cones - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of three pine cones and a rusted brown can. The perspective views these items from the top down on a white featureless background. The can sits next to the cones, rusted and a deep brown. It has been slightly crushed, with its base no longer matching the half peeled open lid. The can is one of the kind that are short but long and rectangular, unlike those that are taller cylinders. The cones sit on their sides pointing in several directions, their seed pods opened creating the rough texture you'd find of opened cones in the woods. The three of them are small, slender, and long, getting to be roughly the length of the can.

Nevada Still Life - Sardine Can and Spruce Cones - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of a rusted brown, cylindrical tin can casting a long shadow and 4 small, whiteish-brown leaves next to it on a white background. The viewer sees these objects from a perspective looking diagonally down, showing some of the top and all of one side of the can. The can has no label, is in its original shape, but rusted and with several ribbed grovves down the side. It stands on a featureless white background except for the shadow cast off the one side, dominating a corner of the image. The four leaves sit in front of the can, laying flat on the ground with the ends of two of the leaves curled slightly up. There are a very light shade of brown, very close to white, and long and slender.

Nevada Still Life - Coffee Can and Cottonwood Leaves - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of a piece of broken bone and a strip of white aspen tree bark sitting on a featureless white background. The bone lays across the top of the bark and takes up the focus of the art. A flat side of the bone faces us, and it proceeds to be a longer piece, broken at the other end and tapering down. A ridge goes along one side before reaching the broken end. The bone is wider than it is tall. The bark it sits atop is white with several rows of small grey dots. It is curled at the near edge under itself, seemingly only held in place from the bone laying on it.

Nevada Still Life - Bone and Bark - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of an empty, brown beer bottle and pine cones on a white background. The painting is simplistic and only has varying shades of brown depicting the bottle on its side. The view is from above a flat service that the bottle lies on and the cones sit next to it. There are three, small cones with small bits peeling back, their tops facing away from the bottle.

Nevada Still Life - Beer and Doug Fir Cones - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of large, distant mountains across a wide flat valley. The large mountains have a long sloping side, growing whiter from the original brown as they approach the pointed top. The flat valley is white and gold and seems to slowly grow up to the bottoms of the mountains.

Moriah from the Wheeler Road - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of tall white mountains, a white clouded sky, green trees and shrubs covering rolling hills leading to the mountains further off. They are imposing, and clouds shroud some to the side with shadow-like mountains looming through the mist. A snow field separates the viewer from the nearby trees.

Doso Doyabi from Meadow Views - 2024.jpg

A pair of watercolor paintings oriented in landscape, barely separated by a thin line of white. The paintings form a continuous perspective of a wide valley laid out before the viewer, with distant mountains towering above, covered in white. To either side of the paintings rise slopes, indicating the viewer is in their own canyon looking out. A grey road stretches into green woods before disappearing, green woods and white snow cover the two slopes, and the valley below is a mix of tans, pinks, whites, and golds.

Basin from Baker Road diptych - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of a valley. The distant horizon is mountainous, with a blue sky with a band of white clouds cutting through. The most distant mountains are just a shade darker than the sky above, As we approach the viewer, there are two other mountain ranges separated by tan and gold valleys with little detail, but the mountains are sharp, darker brown, and bear some evidence of rocks. Right before the viewer is green patches, representing trees on the edge of a slope.

Basin between Park and Moriah - 2024.jpg

A watercolor painting of tall white mountains, a white clouded sky, green trees and shrubs covering rolling hills leading to the mountains further off. They are imposing, and clouds shroud some to the side with shadow-like mountains looming through the mist. A snow field separates the viewer from the nearby trees.
