DOI Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks Shannon Estenoz visited Acadia National Park on August 16, 2024. Superintendent Kevin Schneider provided a tour of the Island Explorer operations and the welcome center under construction at the Acadia Gateway Center in Trenton, the maintenance building under construction with funding from the Great American Outdoor Act at park headquarters, Hulls Cove Visitor Center, Friends of Acadia's Dane Farm housing project in Seal Harbor, and storm damage at Sand Beach.
