Isle Royale National Park
Moose have been present on Isle Royale since the early 1900's. They likely swam from the closest mainland locations in northern Minnesota and Canada. Their population has ranged from a low around 500 to a high around 2,500. The annual winter count of 2018 estimated the population around 1,500.
