Album: Ranching Artifacts in Point Reyes National Seashore's Museum Collection.

Point Reyes National Seashore

Represented in the collection are historical objects and equipment from the American ranching and industry in Point Reyes. Dairy and cattle ranches have been a major aspect of the history of Point Reyes since the California Mexican Era and represent the single largest cultural landscape in the park. The Point Reyes Ranches Historic District and the Olema Valley Ranches Historic District were nominated to the National Register. Pierce Ranch is now on the National Register. Historic structure preservation is part of cultural resource preservation at National Parks. At Point Reyes National Seashore, most of the historic structures are associated with ranching.
