Homestead National Historical Park

Thousands of school children visit Homestead National Monument every year to learn about homesteading and nature. Fourth graders to activities to learn about the Homestead Act of 1862. Eight graders from Beatrice Middle School conduct water quality monitoring of Cub Creek to determine the health of the ecosystem. Groups of kids explore the prairie to learn about insects, plants, and animals.
