Album: Signature of Place

A signature is a distinctive mark, a characteristic unique to each of us. The works in this exhibit provide a glimpse into the distinctiveness of these places, all preserved by the mark of each individual artist. Whether a particular view, the way the light falls across the land or the qualities inherent in the space, these works are reflections of how the artist has experienced the park. Some seek to depict the scenes exactly as they have seen them; others take artistic liberties to present the sense of each place. The bottom line as Paul Murray says, his work is about capturing “the edges of the day”, an objective it seems that all of these artists share.
