Hovenweep National Monument

Hovenweep was designated an International Dark Sky Park in 2014. Here are some photos of the Hovenweep's pristine night skies along with other impressive images of the sky over this incredible site. Trails at Hovenweep are closed at sunset to protect these fragile archeological and natural features. Night photography off the paved sidewalk requires a special use permit issued by the superintendent.
