John Muir National Historic Site
John Muir’s home was situated among Victorian-inspired grounds of mass plantings, exotic specimens, and designed gardens and open spaces. Unfortunately, the Victorian garden that once existed in front of the house had virtually disappeared until recently. A plan to rehabilitate and improve the garden was first identified in a Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) more than 10 years ago, and now the rehabilitation effort is finally underway. Included are photos of the project's before and after.
