Album: Introducing Cultural Landscape Reports: Identifying and Preserving Significant Histories

Park Cultural Landscapes Program

This album focuses on the development of the Cultural Landscape Report (CLR). Around the 2000s, the approach to landscape preservation continued to evolve with more efforts to actively identify, protect, and restore landscapes associated with traditionally marginalized groups of people. The methods also continued to change, including more consultation with people from the groups associated with the landscape for a fuller understanding of its history, uses, and care. This is the third of four albums that explore the development of CLRs over time. These images are part of a series focusing on cultural landscape reports and historic structure reports, highlighting examples and illustrating how the reports relate to the preservation history in the National Park System.
