Haleakala National Park

The 'Āhinahina, or silversword (Argyroxiphium sandwicense subsp. macrocephalum), is an endangered species that is found only within Haleakala National Park on the cinder slopes of Haleakala Crater. It flowers once in its lifetime and dies soon after. It can live up to 90 years.
