Conference Proceedings, Independent Order of St. Luke, 1967
Journal of Proceedings of the Centennial Anniversary and the Twenty-Fifth Biennial Session of the R. W. G. Council, I. O. St. Luke And Seventy-Second Annual Session of the Matrons and Patrons Conference of the Juvenile Department, Faith Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland, August 14, 15, 16, 1967. / Contained are pictures of officers and trustees as well as lists of officers, trustees and staff members. Some committees are pictured. A brief history of one hundred years of operation follows. The Matrons and Patrons conference program is followed by the full convention program including a pageant depicting 100 years of the Order's history. Convention proceedings follow with details of the Order's memorial service. Of note was a decision to move funds earmarked for commissions to encouraging growth and development. The order continues to publish a newsletter, The Fraternal Monitor, although subordinate councils are less involved in fraternal and ritual endeavors. Financial reports follow as well as an especially interesting analysis of the social and economic conditions of Negroes at this time from the medical examiner.
