Black-and-white photograph with an inscription representing three Japanese women sitting on a rug, one holding a fan, one looking at the camera. They are photographed by a plain wall with a carved molding along the floor.
Three Japanese women, including Ohanna (or Ohana) a geisha from Tokyo, pose for a group portrait on a rug placed on a European carpet. The backdrop is plain and there is a low carved wooden molding on the wall near the floor. They sit with their legs beneath them next to a small dog. Each wears a kimono. Ohanna's is the most elaborate with a striped geometric pattern. The woman at left holds an open folding ogi fan and another ogi lies on the floor to the right. In front of the group is a tobacco set in a wooden box and a small purse. Ohanna appears to be holding a pipe. | Inscription: "Yoshi's okamisan [owner/landlady], Ohanna & Okasan [mother?]" in ink in block letters by Charles Longfellow. (On image.)
