Back of a carte-de-visite. Front shows a portrait of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Head and shoulders visible against plain background. Longfellow turns his head slightly to his left. He wears formal attire and has chin-length white hair and a full white beard. Inscription: "1869?" written in pencil verso. Photographer stamp includes "Elliott & Fry / Copyright / 55, Baker Street / Portman Square. W. [London]" underneath image and verso. Notes: 1868. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow sat for Fry by 23 July 1868 as he sent Julia Margaret Cameron one of their photographs of him (#2681, fn.2, Letters, ed. Hilen, V). Associated Materials: 3007-1-2-1-41 extremely similar in pose.
