Extended Description The US Marine Corps War Memorial is in the park area around the George Washington Memorial Parkway close to Arlington National Cemetery. North of the memorial are Spout Run Parkway, Interstate 66, Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge, the Rosslyn Metro station, and Theodore Roosevelt Island in the Potomac River. US Route 50 and State Route 27 make a loop around the cemetery and US Marine Corps War Memorial. Within that loop are the Netherlands Carillon, Arlington Cemetery Metro station, Women in Military Service for America Memorial, and Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial. Memorial Avenue and the Arlington Memorial Bridge cross the Potomac River into Washington, DC near the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Constitution Avenue, and Independence Avenue. Closer to the river and moving south are Lady Bird Johnson Park, Lyndon Baines Johnson Memorial Grove on the Potomac, Navy and Marine Memorial, the Pentagon, Pentagon Metro station, Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary, and Gravely Point.
