Roads are represented by gray lines and landmarks by small black squares. Extended Description There are several landmarks within the 15-mile area west of the city of Fredericksburg. Immediately within Fredericksburg are Lacy (Chatham) and Phillips. Just south of the city is Bernard and Mannsfield along the Rappahannock River. Farther south is Hamilton’s Cross along the Richmond, Fredericksburg, & Potomac Railroad and Chandler (Fairfield) down in Guinea Station. Southwest of the city is Massaponax Church on Telegraph Road and the Spotsylvania Courthouse on Court House Road. Just north of the Courthouse are Harrison, McCoull, Harris, Landrum, and Shelton (Scott). Farther west of those landmarks are the Block House Bridge and Block House along Shady Grove Church Road. Slightly north is Shady Grove Church, Corbin’s Bridge, Todd’s Tavern on Brock Road, and Piney Branch Church on Catharpin Road. Most of the landmarks are west of Fredericksburg. Starting on the right and moving left, first there is Salem Church just outside the Marye’s Heights neighborhood along Orange Turnpike. Moving west on Orange Turnpike is Zoan Church followed by Chancellorsville Tavern. Clustered just south of the tavern is Fairview, Hazel Grove, Catharine Furnace, Brick House, and Wellford. Continuing west is Wilderness Church, Burton, and Parker’s Store along Orange Plank Road. West of Burton are the remaining landmarks, which include Wilderness Tavern and Lacy (Ellwood) on Orange Turnpike; and Higgerson and Chewning Tapp just south of Orange Turnpike.
