Connecticut Avenue cuts diagonally across the lower left corner of the map, and the park area is hemmed by 16th Street to the east. The northernmost type of landscape is meadow park. Wild woodland and open hillside fill the rest of the area between this and Military Road. South of Military Road are woodland for intensive use to the west of Rock Creek and plateau recreation ground to between the creek and 16th Street. Valley sections line the creek from near Park Road to end in the northern wild woodland area. Legend A scale to the right measures 0.5 kilometers and 0.5 miles.
