Extended Description At the center of Morristown is Morristown Green, which is aptly shown in green. It sits between South Street, South Park Place, North Park Place, and East Park Place. Just northeast of Morristown Green is the Presbyterian Church Cemetery, also represented in the color green. Five public parking places are spaced around this area of Morristown. Fort Nonsense lies to the west of Morristown Green and the cemetery. The entrance to Fort Nonsense faces Morristown, and amenities include a picnic area and parking. Another park space shown in green to the east just past Interstate 287 has a Museum with Visitor Information, Washington’s Headquarters at Ford Mansion, and two parking areas. Washington’s Life Guard Monument and the General Washington Equestrian Statue are across Morris Avenue, which runs along the southern perimeter of this park. The Patriots’ Path Spur at the southeast corner of the park. It travels east and then north before hooking back west and extending off the top edge of the map north of Morristown. The Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail is represented by a yellow line that winds through the center of the map. It enters the map on Mount Kemble Avenue near the bottom left corner of the map. The trail travels north as Mount Kemble Avenue turns into Bank Street and then North Park Place. The trail veers east on East Park Place and then South Park Place around Morristown Green. The trail continues east on Morris Street to pass the New Jersey Transit Commuter Rail Station and the nearby Schyler-Hamilton House before extending off the right edge of the map near Acorn Hall. Around the parks and historic trail are the Whippany River, which ripples across the top of the map to the north. The river passes the Jacob Ford Jr Powder Mill Site in the top right quadrant. A Performing Arts Center and Macculloch Hall are south of Morristown. The Morristown Line of the transit system angles northwest from the bottom right corner of the map, where the Traction Line Recreation Trail also enters and then heads north to meet Morris Avenue just south of Washington’s Headquarters. Exit 36A on Interstate 287 accesses Morris Avenue and Exits 36 and 36B are north of the eastern park. Legend A scale in the upper left corner of the map measures distances of 500 feet and 150 meters.
