Extended Description

Dark orange triangles indicate sections of the parkway while blue numbers mark mileposts. Five sections are labeled from top to bottom as follows:

Highland Rim Section between mileposts 400 and 440,

Blackland Prairie Section around milepost 260 where the trail grazes Tupelo, Mississippi along US Route 78,

Yockanookany Section between mileposts 100 and 140,

Rocky Springs Section between mileposts 40 and 60, and

Potkopinu Section around milepost 20.

Two cities are represented with bright yellow: Nashville is at the top where Interstates 40, 65, and 24 intersect, and Jackson is three-quarters of the way down the map where Interstates 20 and 55 intersect. A yellow dot to the left of the parkway along Interstate 20 marks the town of Vicksburg where the Mississippi River runs along the state line with Louisiana, which is shown in peach. The Cumberland River and Tennessee River run roughly perpendicular to the trail in the upper quadrant of the map.
