Copperhead. Locality: Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, SP-12; Road by upper arm of Glaize, Lake of the Ozarks Area SP-12. Negative #: 6358. Comments: The reptile had evidently struggled to swallow the ground squirrel for some time, since the animal was bloated, and the head partially decomposed. The snake was very weak. The Ozarks abound with copperheads.
Scanned and described by NPS History Collection staff, March 2021. This project was made possible by donation from the Family of George Melendez Wright in honor of his legacy.
