Alt Text Area map showing the location of City of Rocks National Reserve in Idaho in grass green. Five other green areas indicate park land against a tan background. Roads and highways are noted in gray and red. Extended Description City of Rocks National Reserve is in the bottom left quadrant near Almo. Just northeast of the reserve is Castle Rocks State Park, and north of both is one much larger section of Sawtooth National Forest. This and three other separate areas of forest create a loose box across the rest of the map. The southernmost section of the forest is just south of the Idaho-Utah state line, which runs across the map about a third of the way up. Highways and local roads create a network across and among the park sites. Interstate 84 runs east across most of the top edge of the map, intersecting with State Route 27 at Exit 208, crossing the Snake River, and then intersecting with State Route 77 at Exit 216. Interstate 86 continues east off Interstate 84. A note near Interstate 84 on the left edge of the map reads “Almo to Twin Falls, 83.1 miles (133.7 kilometers).” A note where Interstate 86 extends off the top edge reads “Almo to Pocatello, 49 miles (78.9 kilometers).” After branching from Interstate 86, Interstate 84 angles down between two sections of Sawtooth National Forest and off the map near the bottom right corner. Along the way it crosses the Raft River and then US Route 30 at Exit 5 near Snowville. A note near the right edge of the map reads “Almo to Salt Lake City, UT, 178 miles (286.5 kilometers).” Shown in red, State Routes 27, 77, and 81 reach south from Interstate 84 like rivulets. Most eventually are shown in black and then as unpaved county roads. A note near the reserve reads “Unpaved roads may be in poor condition.” Legend A scale in the lower right corner of the map measures distances of 10 and 20 kilometers and 10 and 20 miles.
