Alt Text Map of El Camino Real de Los Tejas National Historic Trail, which connects Mexico City in Mexico with Los Adaes in Louisiana. Terrain is rendered in earth browns and the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of America in clear blue. Extended Description El Camino Real is represented with a cluster of dark orange lines. After the line departs from Mexico City, it passes the towns of Lagos de Moreno, Aguascalientes, Zacateas, and Saltillo before splitting into first two legs and then into more like an irregular braid. The branches pass Laredo, San Antonio, and Austin in Texas before reuniting and ending at Los Adaes. Towns labeled but not on the route include Veracruz, Acapulco, and Monterrey in Mexico, Corpus Christi, Houston, Ft. Worth, and Dallas in Texas, and New Orleans in Louisiana. Legend A scale in the Gulf of America measures distances of 200 kilometers and 200 miles.
