Alt Text Detail map of the Apgar village area in Glacier National Park in Montana. The powder blue waters of Lake McDonald carve three-quarters of the way into the beige region from the northeast corner, with sites lining the brown roads that curve around it. Extended Description This description will navigate counterclockwise around Lake McDonald, beginning in the northwest. Here, a slate blue line marks Apgar Creek meandering southeast to a tributary at the southwestern tip of the lake. Extending from the northern edge of the map in the west, a brown line marks Camas Road. This route leads to Camas Creek Entrance as it heads north beyond the map boundary and follows the curve of Lake McDonald as it heads south. Branching from the slope of Camas Road in the west, a brown line marking Inside North Fork Road runs along the western perimeter of the lake and leads to a cluster of looping spurs that surround the site of Fish Creek with amphitheater, campground, restrooms, and picnic area. Continuing south back on Camas Road, the route passes a looping trail and brown spur before crossing over the tributary. Just beyond, a black dashed web of trails heads south alongside the tan line of a bike path. Opposite the road to the north, a tan line leads to southwestern edge of the lake where the site of Apgar Village is shown with food service, boat tours, and boat rentals. Returning to Camas Road, another brown line juts north to the lake, veering east along the shore past a boat launch, an amphitheater, and a picnic area. Just south of these sites, coiling brown roads locate the site of Apgar Campground which includes restrooms. Back on the main road, a branching route at the base of the lake leads south to West Glacier and spurs north to Apgar Visitor Center with restrooms, bookstore/gift shop, and shuttle bus stop. Forking from the visitor center, a tan line shows an accessible path running between the offshoot to Apgar Village to the west and the site of Apgar Campground to the east. As Camas Road turns back north on along the eastern margin of Lake McDonald, it becomes Going-to-the-Sun Road, which passes the campground area and continues on to the eastern rim of the map toward Logan Pass. Legend A scale in the lower right corner of the map measures distances of 1 kilometer and 1 mile.
