Alt Text Map of Grand Canyon National Monument in Arizona. The plateau along the bottom edge of the map is sage green and the canyons beyond are rendered in shades of brown. Near the top left corner of the map, Hermit Road winds past Hopi Point, Powell Point, Maricopa Point, Trailview Overlook, and ends at a gate. To the south, the Grand Canyon Railway parallels Rowe Well Road as both angle northwest from the bottom left of the map. Rowe Well Road and Center Road, both represented as white lines, weave around and among Kennels, Maswik Lodge, Backcountry Information Center, Community Building, Ranger Office, Train Depot, and Verkamp’s Visitor Center, which has information. Eight sites in close proximity line the rim of the canyon over this web of roads. From west to east, these include Bright Angel Trailhead, Kolb Studio, Lookout Studio, Bright Angel Lodge, Thunderbird Lodge, Kachina Lodge, El Tovar Hotel, and Hopi House. Indian Garden with campgrounds is in a bowl between canyons beyond the rim. Yavapai Point and Geology Museum, with information, is farther east along the rim. Plateau Point at 3,860 feet (1,177 meters) is north of the museum in the canyon. Between Verkamp’s visitor Center and Yavapai Point another cluster of buildings makes up Market Plaza. Yellow patches representing parking areas are spaced near the buildings.
