Alt Text Map of Minidoka National Historic Site in Idaho. The map is tan with widely spaced green areas denoting agriculture. A larger, roughly boomerang-shaped site representing the Minidoka Relocation Center extends beyond the square Minidoka National Historic Site. Individual buildings on the site are outlined in gray. Extended Description Minidoka National Historic Site is bordered to the south by the North Side Main Canal. Two short arms reach from the southern corners of the park along the canal. The entrance to the site is at the tip of the southwest arm near the canal. Text here reads “Begin tour here.” Information, a Guard Tower, Reception Center, and the Military Police Building are near the entrance. Upon entering the site, there is a round administration area labeled in gray. Beyond that is a large open area. In the lower left quadrant of the park are the Fire Station #1, Water Tower #2 Foundation, and the Hermann House. The Visitor Center, which has information, is just southeast of this. A bit farther on are a Root Cellar, Guard Tower, and Swimming Hole. An area above is outlined and labeled Block 22, and text here reads “See detail above right.” Inside Block 22 are a Mess Hall and Barrack. The Junior High School and Hunt High School are labeled in gray in Block 23, which is one block over and up. Moving further into the right wing of the camp are Blocks 26 through 44. Stafford Elementary School is located in Block 32. Outside of the right wing of blocks are the poultry farm, the hog farm, and several acres of agricultural land. Back near the center of the camp are Blocks 1 through 19. The camp hospital is also located just below Blocks 4 and 6. A walkway just outside Block 1 leads past a guard tower to the cemetery. Another walkway between Blocks 5 and 7 leads to the dump. Legend A scale in the lower right corner measures distances of 250 meters and 250 feet. Below are two symbols for Information and Self-guiding trail. The legend continues as follows: Black dashed line for Trails, White numbers for Block numbers, Gray outlines for Historic features, and Black rectangles for Remaining or reconstructed features.
