Alt Text Map of Redwood National and State Parks in California. The Pacific Coast is rendered in perspective looking east, and the Pacific Ocean is an aqua blue strip across the bottom of the map. The top four-fifths of the map are sandy yellow and textured with topographic details. Extended Description Redwood ranges are marked, thin strips of grass green running along the Pacific Coast. This description will begin from the left edge of the map and move right. The Coast Redwoods The Coast Redwoods run along the coast and the Cascade Range, stretching from the city of Brookings Oregon, past Crescent City California, the city of Eureka, and Cape Mendocino. Redwood National and State Parks, outlined in black, sit near the Oregon state border, between Crescent City and Eureka. After a small gap, the Redwoods continue past Mendocino and Point Arena, ending near Bodega Bay. Another small patch is noted around Mount Tamalpais, between Point Reyes and San Francisco Bay. Past San Francisco, another range of Coast Redwoods is noted within the Santa Cruz Mountains, which sit between the Diablo Mountain Range inland, and Monterey Bay on the coast. Past Monterey, three small patches of Coastal Redwoods sit in the Santa Lucia Range, one between Monterey and Big Sur, and two between Big Sur and San Simeon. The Sequoia Groves The Sequoia groves are noted with grass green graphic trees, inland along the Sierra Nevadas. They are scattered from near Sacramento and Lake Tahoe, across Yosemite Valley, growing close together past Kings Canyon near Death Valley. Lakes Lakes are noted in sky blue. From left to right they are: Carter Lake and Upper Klamath Lake along the Cascades in Oregon; Goose Lake on the Oregon-California border near the Nevada state border; Shasta Lake between Mount Shasta and Lassen Peak. Clear Lake and Lake Berryessa lie between Sacramento and the coast. A trio of lakes sit inland of the Sierra Nevadas: Honey Lake, just past Lassen Peak; Pyramid Lake on the Nevada side; and Lake Tahoe, which sits on the California-Nevada border across the mountains from Sacramento. Two lakes sit past Sacramento: Mono Lake, near Yosemite Valley between the Sierra Nevadas and the Nevada state line; and an unlabeled lake near Mount Whitney, between the Sequoia groves and Death Valley. Legend In the lower right corner, the North arrow is shown in perspective and angled to the left between nine and ten o’clock.
