Alt Text Area map with Waco Mammoth National Monument in Texas. The monument is marked with a green callout box to the west. Roads are shown mostly as white lines against tan terrain, and the Brazos and Bosque rivers are shown in blue. Extended Description In the top left quadrant of the map, the Bravos River veers northeast in a sideways U shape before continuing southeast and off the bottom right corner. Waco Mammoth National Monument is in the opening of the U. Steinbeck Bend Drive curves over the park and becomes Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, which runs near and north of the river through town. The Bosque River brushes the southeastern tip of the national monument before continuing southeast to Cameron Park, shown in green, and then meets the Brazos River. Farther along the Brazos, Cameron Park Zoo is hemmed to the southwest by 4th Street. Fifth, 17th, 18th, and 19th streets are marked and, moving east, cross streets are Bosque Boulevard, Waco Road, and Franklin Avenue, which is in Downtown Waco. Shown as a red line, Interstate 35 runs vertically at a shallow diagonal through the city east of Franklin Avenue. Text near the top edge of the interstate reads “To Dallas” and near the bottom edge “To Austin.” Bus Route 77 and County Road 933 parallel the interstate to the west between the highway and the Brazos River. County Road 3051, which becomes State Route 340, and US Route 84 cross the interstate north of the Brazos River. Baylor University’s Maybord Museum Complex is just south of the river, east of the interstate. Legend A scale along the lower edge of the map measures distances of 1 and 2 kilometers and 1 and 2 miles.
