Primarily letters written during the American Civil War by Jerome Peirce, 36th Regiment of Massachusetts Volunteers, to his wife from late 1862 until May 1864, when he was killed in action. Also includes a few letters from Peirce's wife and other correspondence to and from other Peirce family members and friends.
