Gettysburg National Military Park Gettysburg, Pennsylvania D66 April 5, 1963 Memorandum To: Regional Director, Northeast Region From: Superintendent, Gettysburg Subject: Text for South Carolina Memorial Enclosed are the inscriptions proposed for the south Carolina Memorial. Drawings for this memorial were forwarded to your office on March 11, 1963 On only a few of the memorials on this park do the names of the monument commissioners or committees appear. However, we know of no regulation or policy which prohibits appearance of these names. The South Carolina people are planning on having their memorial completed for dedication on July 1 as part of the Centennial. It is requested that these inscriptions be acted upon promptly.
